Back in October last year, we co-hosted the second installment of We Change The Depth; held at the superlative music cocoon that is The Verdict (one of Europes' pre-eminent Jazz clubs dont you know) in Brighton. The night was originally conceived a few years previous by Electric Ape, Ring Modulator and Kin;Aesthetic and as billed, intended as a blurring of 'DJ selection' & Live performance in the form of a heavily atmospheric soundtrack, intense, slow-moving, rich, subtle, immersive.

With a leaning towards improvised, of-the-moment performance, particularly apt to the venue's jazz foundations, the second WCTD was presented with The Verdict and Brighton Electronic collective aka [beep] and featured a segue of performances from: Jeff Stonehouse, - micro-textural soundscaping utilising wind-driven guitar,  Arboria Auralist - wi-fi linked singing bowl feedbacking and reverberations, While We Were Sleeping - Hitchcock inspired synthtracking scattered with Vertigo, Depth Quart - cloaked layers of live electronics / record selections, submerged rhythms and esoteric recordings. All glued together with gestating interludes throughout the evening from, Spirit of Gravity's Geoff Reader aka DJ Cheesemaster.

Some recordings from the night have since been posted, offering a glimpse of the brilliant atmosphere created in the shrouded bunker of the Verdict's basement...

Jeff Stonehouse: A very slightly edited version of Jeff's hypnotic set is up on his Soundcloud page.

The recording of Arboria Auralist's intensely resonating set from the night is yet to be posted, but should it appear we'll update the link here too.

We look forward to WCTD; III...
