Moving on to the second part of the King Lagoon launch at Munchies’ Craft, late last year… Taking the temperature up at The Golden Lagoon LP celebration, the latter half of the evening saw two energetic party sets, from two Brighton DJ’s who know how to get ‘em dancing… Chicha Morada & King Lagoon’s own, DJ Eggs Legs.
Picking things right up, Chicha Morada jumps straight in with a rousing array of South America-leaning rhythms, Forro to Latin, through percussive Remixes and Edits, thoroughly warming up the November evening and the floor in the run-up to DJ Eggs Legs closing set.
Finally the night reached its crescendo, with a trademark DJ-and-Percussion set from Rodrigo aka DJ Eggs Legs. Leaping around hot island grooves, rapid samba percussion and explosive Central-West African folk rhythms, filling the glorious, intimate Munchies’ Craft with a furious flurry of nuanced drum patterns, and raising the evening to a kinetic high.
